Coogee runs on a particular rhythm: early swims, long days, a social life that does not stop. It is a good life and it is also a hard one to step out of long enough to change something. Most people who come to Genie from Coogee have been meaning to for months — about the drinking that crept up, the vape they cannot put down, or the anxiety that only shows up when everything else goes quiet.
From Coogee it is a straight line inland: up Coogee Bay Road, across Avoca Street, and the clinic is at number 97. Two kilometres, and six minutes in ordinary traffic. Buses along Coogee Bay Road and Arden Street all run within a short walk of the door.
Parking is easier here than at the beach — street parking on the surrounding streets, and the Royal Randwick Shopping Centre car park a few minutes' walk. If you would rather not move the car at all, sessions run online just as well, and quite a few Coogee clients do a first session in the room and the rest from home.
Where something social became automatic.
The hardest one to put down, because it goes everywhere.
Work, sport, speaking, exams.
Constant worry, panic, health anxiety, sleep, burnout.
Flying, driving, needles, lifts — a trigger you can name.
For people who have already tried, often more than once.
Emotional eating, snacking, night eating, autopilot.
Speaking, interviews, sport, exams, self-worth.
Alcohol, gambling, phone and screens — the choice back.
Skin picking, hair pulling, nail biting, clenching.
Gut-directed hypnotherapy for the gut–brain connection.
After rejection or heartbreak, and dating again.
About 2 km, a six-minute drive. Up Coogee Bay Road and across to 97 Avoca Street, Randwick.

Yes. Dependencies — alcohol, gambling, phone and screen habits — are one of the seven areas Genie works in, and most people who come about them are not in crisis. They simply want the choice back.
The first consultation is 90 minutes. Later sessions are shorter, and the plan is agreed with you on the first call.
Have used genie twice and both times she has been brilliant. Helped me quit vaping when I was so bad and helped me gain confidence swimming. Completely changed the mindset for both and can't recommend enough.

Genie Pepper has run her clinical hypnotherapy practice in Randwick for years and sees clients from right across the eastern suburbs — Coogee included — as well as online. Sessions are tailored to you, in a quiet room, and most people find them deeply relaxing whatever brought them in.
Genie (Eugenie) Pepper, Clinical Hypnotherapist
Sessions are relaxing and focused on what you want. You stay in control throughout and you go at your own pace. The first conversation is a call, not a commitment — Genie will ring you, and you decide after that.
